Off to Dance Camp!

To all those who comment on the blog, send me emails, and add Facebook updates….THANK YOU. I can’t always respond to everyone, but I do read everything. Please know that it’s encouraging to my soul and spirit. Please continue to pray for Albert and myself, and our children that we may continue to be used of God, for His Glory. Blessing!

Well, today is the day. Today I leave for dance camp and I am so excited. This will be the fifth year that I personally have attended this Christian Dance Camp (Dance Revolution). Every year it’s a press to get there, but always worth it in the end. The administrative work to get 30 people registered, transported, located in a room, and fed can be stressful enough to put a girl in a straight jacket. However, every year, after all is said and done, it turns out to be a great weekend. The power of God shows up and transforms my life, and the lives of all who attend.  I come back changed and on FIRE, in that order (lol).
Sometimes I pinch myself when I see how far the Father has brought me when it comes to dancing. I have tried to quit countless times and in each attempt the Father has found away to woo me back into His purposes. I am so thankful that He knows me better than I know myself.
I’ve been dancing since the age of six, but when I started dancing for the Lord almost twenty years ago, there was no such thing as praise-worship dance. It may have existed somewhere in this vast world, but it was pretty much unheard of. When the Lord began to deal with my heart about dancing for Him I didn’t know what to do. I had danced in school, participated in productions, but had no clue about dancing at a church. And it seemed that no one else had a clue as well.
After much asking, seeking, knocking, through prayer, the Lord connected me with a ministry that believed in praise-worship dance. The ministry had been utilizing dance as a part of worship for many years. The co-pastor of the church had dance professionally and was on a quest to free the people of God to dance for Him. I am a product of her teaching (hallelujah!). As a matter of fact, I was introduced to my dance instructor and mentor, who trained me professionally for over ten years, through this ministry.
I just don’t have time today to tell the real story…I will one day soon. I don’t have enough words to tell you how much dance has changed my life. In a nutshell, it has brought healing to a broken young woman and freed her to live a life of liberty before Him. I am grateful today for the gift of dance. I am privilege and blessed to be able to be right here, right now. I am grateful and privileged to dance before my King.....so thankful today for His love for me….He truly has been good to me.
