Obedience is Key!

I hope you all are not tired of me singing, but I am a worshiper. And many times the Father will speak to me in songs, usually to stir me, and to get my attention to hear what He really wants to speak. This morning I awoke with another old song from back in the day. Does anyone remember, “Lord, Sabaoth” by Robert Gay?
Lord, Saboath
Lord of Host, Mighty in Battle
Lord, Saboath
Lord of the Armies of God
This was one of those songs that I would do spiritual battle with in my personal prayer time. I would dance this song before the Lord and would literally weld my spiritual sword at enemy. The Holy Spirit taught me years ago how to war, not only with my words of prayer, but also with my physical body (little did I know that I would be dancing for the Lord later in life). I have a banner on my wall that has one of my favorite scriptures inscribed on it. One of my closet and dearest friends had it made for me about five years ago. It says, “Blessed be the LORD my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.” (Psalms 144:1 – KJV). I was destined to be a warrior (lol).
 I recall one time, out of obedience to the Holy Spirit, I was dancing around my room, boxing and beating the air like Rocky Balboa, swinging at the enemy. Man I felt like a crazy fool in my flesh, but yet I could sense the power of the Holy Spirit breaking forth in the spirit realm. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the PULLING down of strongholds” (II Corinthians 10:4).  Now, mind you, this was before my praise dancing days. There was no such thing as a “praise dance” team, only the choir and praise & worship team existed, and I was a member of both. In that season, I was desperate for breakthrough in my marriage, my children, and my ministry. Intercession was my weapon of war. I obeyed the Holy Spirit’s direction every day, not knowing that He was killing two birds with one stone: Bringing breakthrough to all that I had prayed, while preparing me for future things…such a time as this.
Who would of thought that dancing around like a crazy woman in my bedroom twenty years ago was preparing me to be the dance director for four church campuses, six dance teams, and over a 100 dancers, and still growing? Who would of thought that in fifteen years time I would have had the privilege of ministering to hundreds of men and women, and continue to do so? Who would have thought, that this abused and broken young girl, would have the privilege of writing to you today? Only the Father God who is rich in mercy and grace, knew (Read Jeremiah 1:5).
People of God, you have no idea what the Holy Spirit may be preparing YOU for, and really, you need not be concerned. You are only required to Trust and Obey. “…Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath PREPARED for them that love him” (I Corinthians 2:9).
 You may not be seeing the fruit right now, but know that, fruit IS in your belly. In every seed, the Word of God in you, there is a vine or tree that will bear fruit, in its season (Psalms 1:3). Your job is to be obedient when the Holy Spirit is giving you instructions, even if it seems a little crazy to your flesh. Know that you are sowing into your future.
If He says to read your Word every day, READ it! If He says, get up and pray at 4:00AM, GET UP! If He says, dance before Him, then, by all means, DANCE! Our obedience to the Lord is the KEY to our deliverance and victory over whatever we may be facing in this season: finances, jobs, children, ministry, neighbors,…you name it. The Word of God is clear:
“But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams” (I Samuel 15:22 – NLT).
“If ye be willing AND obedient, ye shall eat (prosper, excel, accelerate) the good (the fruit, substance) of the land (naturally and spiritually)” (Isaiah 1:19 – KJV).
OBEDIENCE is the word for someone today. This is not what I had planned to write about, but…I am being obedient (lol). I hear the Holy Spirit saying, “Obey God!”  Whatever He’s telling you to do,DO IT!
“…and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you openly. Also when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward in full already. But when you pray, go into your [most] private room, and, closing the door, pray to your Father, Who is in secret; and your Father, Who sees in secret, will reward you in the open.” (Matthew 6:4-6 – KJV).
Private obedience will always bring public victory. Sometimes we want God to put us out front, when many times we are not ready. We are still struggling with obeying Him in secret, in the small things. In the Song of Solomon it speaks of the little foxes that come to spoil the vine: Disobedience is a little fox. Examine your heart and see if you are allowing little foxes to spoil your vine, your love relationship with Jesus. It could be the key to your breakthrough.
What has God told YOU to do today? What has the Holy Spirit been prompting in YOUR Spirit? Does is seem crazy and foolish? Maybe He asked you to extend your prayer time? Maybe He asked you to start a prayer time? Maybe He’s told you to war in dance while you pray? Or maybe He’s told you to sing love songs to Him, and you don’t think you can sing? Maybe He’s asked you to intercede on behalf your leaders, both spiritual and natural? Or maybe He’s asked you to give, even sacrificially to someone, anonymously? Maybe He told you to purchase a gift for that person you can’t stand? Or maybe He’s told you to just lay prostrate before HIM, in silence?
 I don’t know what the Lord has required of YOU, or will require, but this I do know….Obedience is key!

  2. Trust And Obey Hymn

    When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
    What a glory He sheds on our way!
    While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
    And with all who will trust and obey.

    Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
    To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

    Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
    But His smile quickly drives it away;
    Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
    Can abide while we trust and obey.

    Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
    To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

    Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
    But our toil He doth richly repay;
    Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
    But is blessed if we trust and obey.

    Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
    To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

    But we never can prove the delights of His love
    Until all on the altar we lay;
    For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
    Are for them who will trust and obey.

    You are speaking to me and I receive it. Thank you for obeying and leading by example. Love ya - Sharon
