Rise Up! You are a Phenomenal Woman

The Holy Spirit dropped this scripture in my spirit yesterday morning and I have been meditating on it ever since ~ I am grateful for His faithfulness to me.

"Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin,
to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand" Zechariah 4:10

It’s been at least 15 years ago when the Lord burned into my heart a passion for women's ministry. At the time I was very young, newly married, and a new mother. Although I had grown up in the church and been around ministry for years I had no idea of how to “do” ministry. I remember wrestling with the Lord over the idea, saying to Him, “What can a young girl, barely wet behind the ears, have to say to women…better yet, who would even listen?!” Well, needless to say, the Lord won that battle and Hannah Women’s Ministries was birth in my home in 1993. There were three women in attendance: Dawn Moseley, Teresa Mayes, and Vanessa Byes. These brave women, who are still dear friends of mine to this day, came to hear this young women share her heart and relationship with Jesus. I don’t know if I imparted anything useful that day, I can barely remember the details. But what I do remember is that the presence of the Lord showed up and confirmed a birthing in me that is still going to this day. Hannah Ministries has long been done away with, but the deep passion and heart for women continues in my heart and is even increasing daily.

You see, I have a passion for the women of God: One that I can’t shake, no matter how hard I try. I have a passion to see them set free from the lies and deceit of the enemy that is so prevalent in so many today. I have a passion to see them rise up and be a voice of the Lord in the earth: through word and deed. I have a passion to see Jesus exalted in the life of every woman I meet. This passion compels me to stretch beyond my comfort zone: i.e, blogging, Facebook, etc. It compels me to be open and transparent, sharing the secrets of my heart in hopes of helping other women (and men) come to know His great love.

This passion compels me to intercede daily on behalf of the beautiful women He has placed in my circle. It compels me to pray that they are strengthened in Him, filled with His spirit, and graced with the ability to stand in whatever situation they are in. It compels me to pray diligently and fervently that every woman come to know who they are in Christ Jesus and that they walk boldly in the authority that they are given. It compels me to go to war, in prayer, confrontation, and right teaching, against the plans of the enemy to slander the reputation and hearts of women by causing them to make “silly women” decisions. It compels me to pray that every woman would rise up and be Godly wives, mothers and sisters in the earth, walking in the wisdom of the Lord.

To the women in my circle, and you know who you are, know that I’m praying even now that your hearts are stirred as you reading this. Know that whatever situation you’re in, it is not the final word on your future. Remember that the Father, who is FULL of grace and mercy, has a plan for your life. I speak to you today, “Rise up, woman of God!” and take your rightful place in the Kingdom. Rise up and be the phenomenal woman that He has called you to be, forgetting the past and pressing forward in HIM. Know that I love you and that my heart beats to see His glory fulfilled in your life. Amen.

"Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, [I] CEASE NOT to give thanks FOR YOU, making mention of you in my prayers" Ephesians 1:15-16
